Thanks to everyone who rolled out on Friday to hang out for Happy Hour. We've got to do this more often. Once we get back from the Twine Ball Run we'll put together a local weekend ride where we can all go out and blast around a while and then come back to the shop for some beers and tell each other lies.

Doin' it Baja 4, 5, 6, and 7

I've been slacking on updates from the VBS trip. Here's some links to the latest episodes. I wish I had done something cool like rebuild a bottom end with a pocketknife or something, but alas, all I did was change a fuse, replace a few lost bits and find a campsite in a storm-tossed village that no one was stoked on. Heath boxing in San Ignacio was nothing short of epic though. Harv's bike blowing up sucked, but comes with the territory.

Better Boogers & Saltgasms

Here's something we can all benefit from. Check these two new DVD's from our buddies Wes White of Four Aces Cycle and Tyler Malinky at Lowbrow Customs. They teamed up with David Bird and created a how-to video for both MIG and TIG welding. You can get 'em here. Apparently ol' Tyler has been paying attention 'cause his Bonneville racer is shaping up super nicely! Both Malinky brothers are chasing records on the Great White Dyno this year, along with Wes of course, and the team effort Salt Ghost bike. That is going to be one hell of a cool pit!

Street Chopper Issue Release Party

In case no one has been paying attention, Jeff Holt and crew have not so quietly been building a better newsstand chopper magazine. Relevant is a term that comes to mind. It's really hard to make a print magazine make sense these days. If an editor is lazy or out of touch the content is stale long before an issue hits the printer, especially in this age of instant-upload-high-bandwidth-internet-digital-blah-blah-blah. Even though we're some of those dicks who post stuff on the innerwebs long before a magazine can, I'll never lose my love for the printed paper rag. I read them growing up and I'll read them as an old worn out geezer too. Anyway, the SC crew bust their collective ass and do a good job of delivering stuff I want to read and I'm personally stoked to see the book get more advertising support, better paper and more pages. These recurring issue release parties are a good excuse to hang out on a lazy Saturday with some friends and swap lies, have a beer and catch up on things. Here's a couple collages of a some snaps from today, click on them to view 'em larger so you can see some detail.

Outta Your Vulcan Mind?
Sorry, bad pun. Anyway, check out Luis' 97 Kawi Vulcan 800. What a great job on such an underrated bike. Frisco bars worked out perfect.
