As we know Japan has some of the finest custom builders on the planet. It's sad that the big 4 Jpn manufacturers don't use some of that talent to build cruisers with their own Jpn style, rather that imitate the tired blandness(trying to seem hip) that'stodays H.D. Maybe some good will come of this particular bike. As far as being a "watercooled Sportster" meeting allnoise/emissions regs It's not bad. Eventually everybody's gonna have to go watercooled. Bike designers are just gonna have to come up with some novel solutions, and make watercooled bikes less f'n ugly...

Now i take back all the bad things i said about this bike. It looked like Harley was going for the mainstream market with this bland looking sportster knock off. Unless this thing has major power tho noone in the states is gonna want it. As far as a honda goes it looks cool. Needs some biltwell struts and some apes.
Back in the day i believe a lot of guys would do Japanese bikes before doing an american/brit custom. Because of cost. .. I look at something like this Honda, and at some of the other metrics, and I'll bet that day's gonna come again.

I'll bet you're right on that. I'd hope that if Honda wants to sell a sportster clone for Sportster money then Honda would build a better, faster Sportster.
What i wrote above about building Japanese customs/chops may be more true of the BigTwin clones, because they are a lot cheaper secondhand than "real' twinkies.
What I find creepy is that these posts flow automatically into the Biltwell facebook page and now this blog entry is gone. It had quite a few comments and I was interested to see if it was still going but *poof* it seems to have disappeared... Honda? HD? Who's at the helm?
